Intrepid travelers

Steve, Ruth, Ginger, Vicky on the road.

Ruth and Steve

On the road.

Vicky and Ginger

They are the specks you see on the sign.

The road...

Leading from Kaibab National Park to the Grand Canyon. I think its safe to say we all had a wonderful time here.

And again...

With Vicky, Ruth, Ginger and Steve. Vicky, Ruth and Ginger were roommates at Bryce who formed a close bond. Ruth and Steve volunteered together in Idaho working trail clearing, developing an affection for the land and their chainsaws.

From left to right, Vicky, Ruth, myself, Steve.

Ruth

And this is the intrepid Ruth. She is leaving the glamorous life at Bryce and heading towards Boise, Idaho to pursue a tatoo apprenticeship.

Steve and Ginger

Ginger is also a Tawainese woman who will be returning now that her visa will be expiring. She is studying business Engkish and has the mazing ability to always be hungry. Steve is a friend of another in our group, Ruth. He had been working at the Grand Tetons and happened tobe at Bryce visiting Ruth when we were leaving for this trip. From Indiana, a traveler, outdoorsman and long distance runner, he's been a good traveler to have with us. As Ruth later remarked in Las Vegas, this has been a good group to travel with.

Vicky

Just outside the Grand Canyon entrance. Interesting to go from the desert red rock of Utah to the lushness of Northern Arizona.

Point Royal

Aviewpoint suggested by Dan, the dorm proctor at Bryce, th is was my favorite spot. I'd later crawl out on a far reaching rock, bask in the sun whilie gazing on this amazing structure. Camping out the night before, temperatures reached down near forty. The next day driving to Nevada it would reach 93.

At the North Rim

The North Rim is less heavily trafficed. From the South Rim you can see the lights of the city supposedly. Here it only appears an ocean of rock, chasm and tree. Later an endangered California Condor would fly overhead, the numbers five marked on the underside of each wing.

Gtand Canyon

Jamie at the Grand Canyon

The immensity of the structures at the Grand Canyon are stunning. It understands the word monolithic. The slowness of the rock brings everyone to speed. I saw two men painting on easels open air.

From Taiwan, an international employee on her way back home. Taken at the Lodge at Grand Canyon, North Rim before heading to our final destination of Las Vegas.

River

Another picture of the river I followed on the mossy cave trail. Not much of a trail really hence the pictures from different vantage points.

Sitting

Taken by Paul Lovine on a full moon night it gives the illusion of day with the backdrop of stars. I was fortunate to be there for this. Thank you Paul.
